SB 2473  RELATING TO THE SMALL BUSINESS DEFENDER    ECD, WAM
        Gives the small business defender the discretion to
        refuse any case, limits the small business defender's
        liability, and appropriates funds.

SB 2948  RELATING TO HIGH TECHNOLOGY                ECD, WAM
        Continues and strengthens the high technology business
        incentives that began in Act 178, Session Laws of
        Hawaii 1999.

SB 2549  RELATING TO ENERGY CONSERVATION TAX        ECD, WAM
        CREDITS
        Repeals sunset date for solar tax credit.

SB 2889  RELATING TO SOLAR WATER HEATING            ECD, WAM
        Adding a new requirement for installation of a solar
        water heater or heat pump electric water heater for
        new single familiy residential homes.  An exception to
        this requirement is allowed in cases where the heat
        pump and solar water heating systems have a simple
        payback period greater than ten years when compared to
        an alternative system.

SB 2422  RELATING TO ENERGY CONSERVATION            ECD, WAM

 
        Requires all state agencies to retrofit buildings to
        save energy.  Provides that all cost savings from
        retrofits shall be returned to the retrofitting
        agency.

SB 2775  RELATING TO STATE FINANCES                 ECD, WAM
        Authorizes and appropriates $550,000 from the Hawaii
        Community-Based Economic Development Revolving fund
        and $1,000,000 from the Hawaii Strategic Development
        Corporation Revolving fund into the general fund for
        fiscal year 2000-2001.

SB 2112  RELATING TO THE WAIANAE COAST COMMUNITY    ECD, WAM
        BENCHMARKING PILOT PROJECT
        Appropriates funds for the Waianae coast community
        benchmarking pilot project and the Hawaii Community
        Services Council for technical support for FY 2000-
        2001.  Extends the repeal date of the project 3 years
        to June 30, 2003.

faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-

islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing,
please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the
date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies
needed for submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
